BLOCKS is bringing big-company cloud efficiency to startups and SMEs. We guarantee 20% savings from day one by pooling cloud spend into a group-buying model. From there, our AI agent “Major Tom” acts like a virtual DevOps engineer, finding waste, optimizing infrastructure, all in an automated way to maximize cloud efficiency. We are building Blocks because startups deserve cloud economics that actually make sense.

Our founders (Oliver and Andreas) are serial entrepreneurs, have raised >$1 billion, and successfully sold multiple businesses. 

Your role

• Build the core user-facing experience, from responsive dashboards to onboarding flows

• Develop and extend backend services in Python, implementing async endpoints, data flows, and internal APIs that power chat interactions, dashboards, and multi-tenant runtime operations

• Design and integrate scalable APIs, connecting frontend, chat clients, and backend services to internal data layers and platforms

• Shape intuitive product experiences from signup, onboarding, workspace management, to AI interactions

• Create and maintain chat integrations (Slack) e.g. OAuth setup, slash commands, interactive modals, webhook flows, event-driven logic etc.

• Collaborate across engineering and product teams, aligning API contracts, improving platform features, and ensuring UX stays consistent as new features roll out

• Improve reliability and delivery workflows, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, frontend build optimizations, and quality checks that keep both web and chat clients fast and dependable

What you bring

• Frontend experience: Strong experience with modern Typescript frameworks (e.g. React with NextJS), building responsive UIs with clean component architectures

• Deep expertise in Python: End-to-end systems with async patterns (DI/await/async ORM); modern web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI/Django/Flask)

• API integration expertise: Design/expose scalable APIs; handle AWS data/internal services with multi-tenant isolation/rate limits

• Product and UX mindset: Comfortable crafting intuitive signup flows, onboarding experiences, and dashboards without a dedicated designer

• Great to have: Practical experience shipping event-driven chat apps or bots (e.g., Slack Bolt SDK with OAuth, JS/TS integrations for Microsoft Teams etc.), including webhook processing and interactive UI flows

• Startup execution mindset: You have shipped 0→1 products fast with high ownership, autonomy, and accountability

• Curious, pragmatic problem solver: You experiment quickly, learn deeply, and optimize for impact over theory

• Direct communicator: You value clarity and feedback as tools for speed, improvement, and alignment

• Demonstrated impact: You have impressive achievements from previous jobs and from side projects. Please share them with us.

• Tech interview/assessment with an engineer (~60 min)

• In-person case study with the founders (1-2 hours)

• Offer call within 24 hours with a founder (15 min)
